Privacy Policy

This policy explains the data practices of Crosscheck, an educational decision-support plugin designed for use inside ChatGPT.

Information Crosscheck uses

Crosscheck may use information that you choose to provide in your ChatGPT conversation in order to answer your question. Depending on your question, that may include general financial circumstances, employment or pension details, household assumptions, or other information you voluntarily enter.

Please do not provide restricted or unnecessary sensitive information. Crosscheck does not need passwords, authentication codes, payment-card details, government identification numbers, or protected health information to perform its intended function.

Purpose of use

Information you provide is used only to generate educational explanations, calculations, comparisons, and source-based decision support in response to your request.

Collection and storage by the Crosscheck publisher

Crosscheck includes a small read-only MCP service that returns Crosscheck scope information and official-source links by topic. The service does not require an account and is not designed to receive your full ChatGPT conversation, financial account credentials, statements, or identifying employment information. The MCP request may include a topic selector such as “OMERS” or “parental leave.”

Service providers and recipients

Crosscheck runs within OpenAI products and uses a hosted MCP endpoint to provide its read-only reference tools. OpenAI processes information under the policies and settings applicable to your OpenAI account. Crosscheck's hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information needed to operate and secure the endpoint, such as timestamps, request metadata and error logs.

Retention

Crosscheck does not maintain a user profile or database of financial information. The MCP service does not intentionally persist tool inputs or tool results in an application database. Temporary technical logs may be retained by the hosting provider according to its service settings. Retention of your ChatGPT conversations is controlled by OpenAI and by the settings and policies applicable to your account.

Your controls

You can choose what information to provide to Crosscheck and can avoid including details that are not needed for your question. Controls for ChatGPT conversation history, deletion, privacy and data use are provided by OpenAI through your account and product settings.

Sharing and sale of personal data

The Crosscheck publisher does not sell personal data or use Crosscheck data for targeted advertising. The read-only MCP service is not designed to transmit your personal financial information to third parties. Ordinary infrastructure providers may process technical data as needed to host and secure the service.

Changes to this policy

If Crosscheck later adds accounts, analytics, additional external services, or other data-processing features, this policy will be updated before those features are used publicly.
